Privacy Policy

The short version. ScentKeep does not ask for your name, email, or phone number. You can use the whole app without an account. Your collection is stored on your device, and is only uploaded if you subscribe and use cloud backup. We do not show ads, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

What we collect

What we never collect
- Your name, email address, phone number, or postal address — unless you choose to add an email to sync across devices.
- Your location, at any precision.
- Your contacts, calendar, health, fitness, or financial data.
- An advertising identifier. We do not show the App Tracking Transparency prompt, because we do not track you.
Analytics contain no content you wrote
Usage events record that something happened and a few counts — for example "a bottle was added" along with how many bottles you now have. They never include a bottle name, a diary note, a photo, or any other text you typed.
Who else touches your data
- Supabase — database, authentication and photo storage.
- RevenueCat — subscription status. It receives your anonymous ID and your purchase, never your collection.
- PostHog — anonymous product analytics.
- Apple / Google — process your payment. We never see your card details.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it for advertising. There is nobody else.
How long we keep it
Your collection is kept until you delete it. If you delete your account, everything is removed from our servers immediately. Anonymous accounts that are never used again are removed along with their data after 24 months of inactivity.
Your rights, and how to actually use them
- Export. Settings → "Export my data" gives you a complete JSON file of everything you have entered.
- Delete. Settings → "Delete everything" permanently removes your account, your collection, your diary and your photos from our servers and from the device. This cannot be undone.
- Object or restrict. Email us and we will action it.
If you are in the EEA or UK, our lawful basis is your consent for analytics, and performance of a contract for the app and any subscription. If you are in California, we do not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA.
Security
All traffic to our servers is encrypted with TLS. Data at rest is encrypted by our provider. Every database table that holds your data has row-level security enabled, with policies scoped to your account ID, so one user's rows cannot be read or written by another. Photo storage is private and enforced per user.
We do not claim SOC 2 certification, an independent penetration test, or end-to-end encryption. We would rather tell you exactly what we do than imply more.
Children
ScentKeep is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has provided us data, email us and we will remove it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that materially affects you, we will update the date above and note it in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
